The Work Stream Lead (WSL), Manufacturing Operations is responsible for overseeing and executing the day-to-day manufacturing operations within their assignment work stream. The WSL is responsible for facilitating activities across multiple shifts, ensuring engagement of the workforce to create a culture that supports safely delivering the highest quality product in the most efficient manner. The WSL is responsible for working cross functionally with the production team, maintenance team, manufacturing engineer, and support groups to meet daily KPIs and escalate to site leadership when issues arise. The WSL will be a key contributor to delivering continuous improvement roadmap milestones and will coach his/her team on CI/LEAN methods/tools to deliver the milestones as required. The Aseptic WSL is required to bring a level of technical knowledge and capability sufficient to lead and assist the operations teams in making accurate, quick decisions based on complex system parameters and conditions
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the ESC manufacturing work stream within the Evansville Supply Center to meet designated business expectations. Leads manufacturing processes that foster high quality, cost efficiency and compliance with all regulatory requirements
Continuously communicates and reviews the performance of the work stream. Manages the tools and processes to monitor key performance indicators. Establishes measurement expectations and drives continuous improvement processes including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Visual Metrics and 5S to improve all activities within the work stream. Leads root cause investigations and ensures execution of improvement plans.
Ensures product availability to meet customer needs by making quality product to plan. Leads the effort to understand and communicate customer issues and garners the necessary resources to address those issues in a timely fashion.
Creates, identifies, and implements new and innovative solutions and technologies that support continuous improvement of safety, quality, cost, customer service, GMP, and people development
Directly manages Operations Supervisors and Batch Record Coordinators
Maintains a visible plant floor presence to heighten plant floor engagement
Coordinates with Production Supervisors and Production Point Persons on weekly staffing, overall staffing levels, and cross training requirements to meet production schedule
Coordinates with site Finance and Work Stream Manager to develop annual budget, lead quarterly projection updates, and tracks monthly Finance KPIs; pro-actively escalates issues before the end of a month / quarter to ensure corrective actions are taken
Develops and coaches leaders to build an outperform operating culture through the utilization of the performance management process that sets expectation; supports site leadership with assessments of employee performance
Translates broad business strategies into concise, actionable plans and goals
Lead the execution of cross functional projects, including commercialization of capital investments and processes to improve quality, product cost and customer service, as well as optimization of capacity and capabilities
Prepares the organization for continual change
Responsible for the overall coordination and execution of CI / LEAN projects within the assigned work stream that involve the following tools: OEE, TPM, SMED, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Material Flow, etc.
