ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Process customer orders, plan & optimize shipments into loads, tender freight to third-party carriers
b. Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information
c. Provide detailed instruction to various customers & associates from other shifts by phone and e-mail.
d. Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process over-sight, auditing,researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
e. Complete daily logs and trackers
f. Identify cost savings opportunities during load planning
g. Coordinates with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary Provides load exception investigation and reporting
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
b. 3+ years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred
c. Relevant/Related Work Experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s Degree
d. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast paced environment
e. Preferred if experienced in transportation
f. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (vlookups and pivot tables)
g. Clear and concise communication skills
h. Coordinates with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary
i. Ability to work First and Second Shift as needed. Flexibility with scheduling required.
j. Authorized to working in U.S
k. A good attitude and ability to work in a team setting
l. Able to sense urgency and know when to escalate for assistance
m. Can create and maintain professional relationships with customers and carriers
