Vertical Marketing Director, CPG – Chicago, IL

Job Description

The CPG Vertical Marketing Director drives industry marketing initiatives on an international scale – with a focus on developing demand generation programs for CPG manufacturers. This position will create and execute the CPG marketing plan that builds Numerator’s engagement through a range of tactics including events, webinars, speaking engagements, and content. Working closely with marketing and sales partners, you will bring industry marketing initiatives to life in order to drive demand to our products and services.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop the marketing programs for CPG manufacturers using input from sales, product marketing, and the marketing team. Specific responsibilities include developing: program goals, messaging, demand creation strategy, and campaign measurement.
  • Develop program tactical plans including: event strategy, website materials, account-based marketing, thought leadership, etc.
  • Develop industry-specific marketing programs for the BDR team.
  • Engage with sales & commercial teams to understand customer needs and current demands, and competitive dynamics within the CPG industry.
  • Be the face of marketing to sales, providing them with a holistic view of marketing developments and be the voice of your customer back into marketing.
  • Develop our voice and positioning specific to the customer verticals you lead.
  • Develop deep understanding of leads and bookings related to your vertical: where they come from, what converts them to MQL, and what converts into pipeline and bookings. Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to communicate how marketing activity turns into leads and bookings while continually refining our process to convert customers.
  • Track monthly budgets, lead and revenue performance for the vertical sales and marketing teams.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12 or more years of Marketing experience, including managing a team
  • B2B Enterprise Technology company experience, preferably within CPG industry
  • Proven track record of developing marketing programs with supporting tactics that deliver growth
  • Proficiency in reporting tools, such as Salesforce and Excel
  • Strategic thinker coupled with great execution
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects
