The opportunity:

Our Event Services team supports their events in real-time through 24/7 customer service for all their live event needs. A key component of our Event Services team is our Event Support Specialists who are on the front lines for any real-time customer service issues. We’re looking for one Event Support Specialist to join our team temporarily, until June 30th, 2019 and support our Event Services department during some of our busiest months of the year. This is a part-time position.

With up to hundreds of events happening each day, the Event Support Team is keeping track of all the milestones for a successful event. From confirming arrivals with our technicians to checking in with our clients, they’re the real-time monitoring system to make sure everything is happening according to plan. The team is constantly switching gears, multi-tasking between providing over-the-phone support, answering emails, monitoring our texting system and managing technical troubleshooting and technical support when needed. This person will be responsible for answering and managing company event support calls for clients and onsite technicians. They will work with internal teams and external partners, to problem solve on event issues and provide clients’ real-time resolutions.

As a Event Support Specialist, you’ll get to work with a number of different teams at Meeting Tomorrow including our Event Management and Event Coordination teams; who are responsible for setting the events up for success before the day of the event.

The hours for this position are: Monday-Friday 3 pm-8 pm

It’s a bonus if you have previous experience working with and troubleshooting audiovisual (projectors, audio systems, mixers, etc) or technology equipment (ipads, laptops, routers), but is 100% not necessary to be a good fit for the role.

What you’ll accomplish, within 1 month:

  • Become proficient in our CRM system, Netsuite
  • Understand and be able to navigate all the tools you will need to be successful in this role, including training on how our teams work together, our processes and Intranet resources
  • Feel confident utilizing our phone system, Shortel
  • Meet with current members of the team to understand best practices for supporting our clients and real-time issues
  • Complete 50 tasks/event confirmations independently
  • Complete 5 real time issues with autonomy

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Have mastery of the role and be managing real time issues with autonomy (estimated 5-10 per day)
  • Have confidence answering phone calls from clients and vendors and have that success reflected in response rate (up to 20 calls a day, answered before 3 rings)
  • Complete tasks and event confirmations with autonomy (15-30 tasks a day)

Within 6 months, you’ll:

  • Have mastery of the role and be managing real time issues with autonomy (estimated 5-10 per day)
  • Have confidence answering phone calls from clients and vendors and have that success reflected in response rate (up to 20 calls a day, answered before 3 rings)
  • Complete tasks and event confirmations with autonomy (15-30 tasks a day)
