Position is on First shift 5am-3:30pm, Monday through Thursday with the potential for overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.
A steel roller rolls out fiberglass laminate ensuring that no air pockets remain. They apply core mat, balsa, plywood and putty to glassed parts, prep cured laminates and ensure that quality standards are met at all times.
Equipment Used: Steel roller, grinders, markers, routers, tope, utility knife, air nozzle, scissors, tape measure, derometer, chopper gauge, barcol tester, barrel cart, pails, paint brush.
Manufacturing experience preferably in boat manufacturing.
Auto body or equivalent fiberglass experience is strongly preferred.
Hand tools experience is desirable.
Must be able to work safely in a dusty environment with a strong fiberglass odor.
Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test. Dust mask and other respiratory protection required at times and always recommended at other times due to fumes and dust.
Must have agility while bending, climbing, kneeling or walking on an uneven surface or a high step.
Must be able to work in cramped spaces when inside boats; awkward postures when accessing parts; demands for lifting/bending when cutting areas; repetitive motion at elevated heights or extended distances; fast pace at times when parts are needed; and concrete flooring.
Must be aware of surroundings at all times due to uneven surfaces, slippery at times due to spray coat, airlines may be on floor or across surfaces; use of sharp cutting utensils with chopping.
Wage range varies based on experience, overtime, reliability, and safety. During your first year of employment you will have 6 opportunities to increase your starting rate and then every year thereafter, based on company profits.
