Virginia Tax’s Field Collections Division is seeking an individual to collect delinquent taxes from individuals and businesses via telephone, field visits, and correspondence to ensure compliance, verify tax liability, and to clarify state tax laws. This is a home-based position for the Richmond area. This position will require the use of your own vehicle to establish contact with business taxpayers, and requires hard-wired high-speed Internet connection with a download speed of 3 MB or higher, an upload speed of 1MB or higher, and a maximum latency of 100ms. (See testing requirements under special instructions). This position requires the selected individual to live in the Richmond area. The Tax Field Collections Representative position enforces account compliance by initiating legal actions, including: Liens, Memorandum of Liens, Revocations, Payment Plans, Bonds, Conversions, Show Cause, and Padlocks. The selected candidate will conduct field visits to companies and, as needed, support Virginia Tax’s Collections call center. The position requires the ability to work with multiple tax types and a diverse group of people, often in adversarial situations, while maintaining good customer service skills. Other job duties include inventory management by organizing and prioritizing accounts as well as using appropriate legal actions to manage cases. Did you know?
