Responsibilities

PPM is the acknowledged global leader in the plant creation market according to Daratech Inc., the research and technology assessment firm. More than two-thirds of the plants built worldwide are designed with Intergraph software. Our SmartPlant 3D and SmartMarine software create solutions that enable the design, construction, and operation of process and power plants, offshore platforms, and ships, and provides the information management capabilities to build and operate those facilities. This gives builders and owners the power to see and understand during the complete life cycle of a plant, offshore facility, or ship.

We are seeking a talented and passionate software engineer who will be developing algorithms for creating and manipulating geometric entities. As a developer in math and geometric modeling group, there is a heavy emphasis on resolving complex geometry and topology problems as they pertain to advanced geometric modeling. You will continually be challenged to assist in removing limitations or to extend system capabilities in geometric modeling. The work is heavily dependent upon solid math background and effective programming capabilities. A strong work ethic showing innovative thinking, problem solving and a team player attitude is essential.

Qualifications

To be a qualified candidate, you must have an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in mathematics or computer science with strong math background. It is a plus if you have considerable knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Differential geometry and algebraic curves
  • Numerical analysis and approximation
  • Computer graphics with emphasis on geometric modeling (or computational geometry)
  • Spline curves and surfaces
  • Solving large scale sparse linear systems using singular value decomposition
  • Parallel programming
