The Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems (SICAS) Center located at SUNY Oneonta invites applications for the position of Remote Database Application Administrator. Expectations include providing application support (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting) for a number of SUNY campuses using the Banner software application. SICAS is a SUNY-wide shared services program organized to provide software enhancements, technical support, best practices, and training for Ellucian's Banner software system to member campuses including SUNY state operated and community college campuses and several associate member campuses made up of private colleges and universities in New York State. The Center is located on its host campus SUNY Oneonta. SUNY Oneonta is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts and sciences college with 6,500 students. Duties include but not limited to: providing database application support for SUNY campuses which includes performing software installations and upgrades to an Oracle-based Ellucian Banner software application; installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Banner applications; providing direct customer support for Oracle and Banner technical issues. Some evening and/or weekend work is required as well as travel to meetings, conferences, and SICAS Center member campuses.
Required qualifications: bachelor's degree; three to four years of technical experience supporting Banner and/or Oracle.
Preferred: demonstrated proficiency in the following: Ellucian's Banner Information System Software, other Oracle-based software installation; experience with Unix/Linux; technical support experience working with Tomcat and/or WebLogic; excellent written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff by telephone and/or email; ability to manage multiple priorities; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
