Job Summary

The Senior Associate Director of Digital Analytics is an integral member of Chicago Booth’s Marketing and Communications leadership team and is responsible for helping to develop a culture more reliant on capturing, interpreting and leveraging data to achieve institutional goals and objectives. The Sr. Associate Director of Analytics will be tasked with using data analytics to help create and implement long and short-term digital analytic strategies to meet institution objectives and inform marketing strategies. The Sr. Associate Director of Analytics will utilize their technical and working knowledge of digital analytics architectures, patterns, practices, techniques and technologies to create and execute the strategy and initiatives of the digital analytics team.

As a subject matter expert, the Sr. Associate Director of Digital Analytics will leverage data from a range of optimization tools, and third party data sources to create a “total” view to tell the “story” and interpret the “why” behind user behaviors and interactions across the Booth digital echo system. A successful candidate will possess a passion for innovation, excellent critical thinking skills and a desire for ongoing learning and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze web analytics data in order to identify gaps and opportunities to improve the overall user experience that align with Chicago Booth Marketing organization and website goals and translate business requirements into analytical solutions and meaningful key performance indicators (KPIs) that help drive performance and influence strategic direction on a range of deliverables
  • Utilize visitor behavior tools that allow for a better understanding of friction points that might be hindering conversion success
  • Partners with internal and external teams to identify optimization opportunities based on insights garnered from reporting suites
  • Establishes a framework for monitoring performance metrics to understand organic search performance/opportunities across Booth’s digital properties as well as create/execute measurement plans, with the necessary web analytics and testing platform configurations to measure and supplement analysis and provide insights that drive scalable learnings and success for Chicago Booth
  • Clearly documents measurement brief which defines KPIs/metrics and determines tracking, benchmarks and performances requirements, along with measuring change
  • Coordinate internal reviews and partner presentation
  • Works alongside internal development team, partners and agencies in the deployment, integrations and implementation of tests, tagging on Booth Digital properties

The items below along with Digital may also require coordination with the Institutional Research & Strategic Initiatives team

  • Continuously deliver analysis and recommendations to increase traffic, conversions, awareness, and engagement
  • Employ segmentation strategies, user pathing, funnel analysis and other enhanced data analysis techniques to identify relevant audiences, success/failure points alongside actionable insights
  • Facilitates the collection of performance related data from various sources, collate, organize, produce data visuals, client dashboards/reports and provide analysis
  • Identification of new developments and trends in the marketplace around analytics, testing and content optimization
  • Remains up to date on measurement best practice and standards
  • Ability to clearly communicate capabilities, opportunities, and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to construct a cohesive, visual story through data
  • Consultative, service-based mindset
  • Ability to understand larger business needs and the application of digital analytics to address them. In-depth knowledge of Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics

Education, Experience or Certifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, computer science or related field required

Experience:

  • At least seven years of recent experience working in a digital analytics role required
  • At least four years of experience in an analytics management position required, in an enterprise-level organization
  • Deep experience with website tracking tools/site analytic platform expertise (Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics) required

Technical Knowledge or Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of report development, data visualization, and insight generation (Tableau) required
  • Advanced level user in Excel: pivot tables, charts, v-lookups, and dashboard creation required
  • Knowledge and the ability to implement best practices to ensure data integrity, data validation, data quality and data clean up required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects required
  • Knowledge of Multi-Channel Media Mix Attribution, Customer Lifecycle Marketing Analysis, Paid Search Audience Targeting and ROI Impact, Campaign Profitability preferred
  • Familiarity with AdWords and digital marketing (SEO or SEM/PPC) preferred
  • Familiarity with Slate/Technolutions, Marketo Analytics, Salesforce, HootSuite, Sprinklr, SEMRush, TrendKite preferred
  • Knowledge of R, Python and SQL preferred
