We currently have an opening for a RF TEST ENGINEER at our Torrance, California location. In this position you will provide test engineering automation support, including technical problem solving and knowledge of RF test equipment, to a Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA) test group. You’ll interpret customer-provided specifications in order to develop appropriate product testing procedures, and review test data for trends and inaccuracies. You will also work to improve test methodology, design, and operation, and generate test reports for internal and external customers. Other responsibilities include selecting appropriate performance information from test data, generation of test failure reports based on out-of-compliance test data, and troubleshooting RF test equipment and testing methodology as needed.

You’ll need at least 10 years of engineering experience that includes relevant test engineering automation experience and a background in microwave and electronics theory. Other qualifications that will enable you to perform successfully in this position include:

  • The ability to design, evaluate and automate RF test measurements and microwave test instrumentation using C++ and/or LabView is required.

  • Knowledge of test equipment, with an emphasis on microwave instrumentation and ATE design, is necessary.

  • Must be able to perform technical problem-solving and work closely with production personnel.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

  • Requires the ability to work in a fast-moving environment under tight schedules and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or physics is needed, with a relevant master’s degree preferred.

  • Requires the ability to obtain an SSBI clearance; current security clearance desired.
