Resiliency Specialist(Job Number: ANA010PC)Primary Location: US-CA-San FranciscoDescription The Water Management team at Arcadis seeks a Resiliency Specialist with 4 or more years of experience to join our Urban and Coastal Resiliency group in the San Francisco Bay or Midwest Area.
With the support of one of the industry’s leading technical and professional staffs, the Resiliency Specialist will work on a growing base of projects throughout the U.S. market with federal, state, or local government and private sector clients related to hazard mitigation and resiliency planning. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to learn and grow professionally while working on a wide variety of projects alongside dedicated and experienced staff.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the development of comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments
- Participating in client and project development opportunities, identifying client needs, and assisting with proposals and marketing materials
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement activities and coordinating planning team and public meetings
- Performing or overseeing data collection, documentation, and analysis
- Working with GIS specialists and other planners on GIS map production, spatial analysis, and geodatabase creation
- Providing other research and writing tasks as necessary to support a wide range of mitigation planning tasks and overall plan development
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
4 years of professional experience with planning, flood risk assessment, and vulnerability analysisBachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Flood Risk Management, or related field Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil/Environmental Engineering,Environmental Science, Flood Risk Management, or related fieldProgramming skills in Python (specifically the ArcPy or GDAL libraries) or RHydrodynamic modeling experience in HEC-RAS, MIKE URBAN, andMODFLOW
