Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
The Sondek lab is seeking a research technician to assist with computational structural biology calculations performed on protein molecules, with an emphasis on molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The scope of work will include but not be limited to running and monitoring MD simulations, managing data files, and analysis of results. The technician will develop and maintain scripts for analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing MD simulation data, as well as for streamlining and automating various aspects of data retrieval and processing. Data interpretation will include visualization and investigation of protein structures.
A B.S. in physical sciences, computer science or related fields is preferred. Candidates with a basic knowledge of Unix systems, strong mathematics background, and demonstrated hands-on experience and proficiency with scientific coding in Python and MATLAB are especially encouraged to apply. Prior experience with clustering data would be beneficial. Prior experience with R or other statistical software would be beneficial but is not required.
