Shift Information: Day Job
40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Serves as first point of contact for coordinating Radiology Services for out-patients, internal and external providers and other clinical and support staff. Possesses the ability to manage complex scheduling and coordination of services for Radiology appointment requests, including multi-modality scheduling, sedation and interpretation services. Responsible for knowledge and understanding of clinical criteria warranting specific Radiology orders, and scheduling according to the Department of Radiology guidelines. Ability to communicate STAT results to providers and patients, while maintaining HIPPA compliance and demonstrating sensitivity to the patients and families. Gathers appropriate registration information, including demographic and insurance verification to expedite the Authorization/ Pre-Certification process and to achieve optimal reimbursement. Greeting and checking in out-patients as they present for Radiology services, including Radiology order entry. This position requires telephone work, customer interface, the ability to work independently and use sound judgement. As a team member, you will work to provide the best care and services to our patients, physicians and ancillary services, to ensure customer satisfaction and a positive patient experience, upholding the Children’s Spirit of Service Standards (Professionalism, Communication, Courtesy and Teamwork).
Minimum one (1) year of experience in patient registration, scheduling, medical billing, business, or related medical field. High school graduate or GED. Medical Terminology strongly preferred. Basic computer knowledge experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) a plus.
