Job Description
Overview
The quality tech is responsible for identifying and implementing systematic solutions to quality issues and to enforce the highest standards of quality management. Quality Tech’s will own the continual development and adherence to the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001:2015 and take a lead role in problem solving with internal and external processes.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Functions
With guidance use deep analytical thinking and resources available, identify and solve quality problems (fit/finish, appearance, functional) for a specific assigned production or manufacturing area (manufacturing, assembly, etc)
With guidance responsible for the quality of the completed assembly, manufactured parts, and / or supplied parts.
With guidance monitor quality key performance indicators and promote improvement in area
Lead / coordinate problem solving focusing on short & long term sustainable solutions
Interface with team members from other departments and external organizations when necessary
Manage change points with supplier, manufacturing and design within assigned area of responsibility
Develop and improve quality standard work as necessary
Develop and assure compliance of quality system improvements
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Associates Degree or higher in Engineering or similar Technical field or 2+ years of equivalent professional experience in Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in one or more manufacturing / assembly areas (metal forming, paint, assembly, etc)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
Experience with Project Management, including responsibility for creating schedules and tracking milestones for both short (week/month) and long term (12-24 month+) projects
Experience in Quality Engineering /Quality Control managing completed assembly & supplied parts
Working knowledge and experience with Toyota Quality Systems, including QIMS, SQAM
Experience utilizing data and investigative tools to analyze and prioritize causes in order to implement countermeasures
Experience working with outside suppliers and vendors, including bid specification, project management, buyoff and Implementation
Experience with Supplier Quality/Process Improvement
ISO 9001:2015 experience
A Level I Quality Tech is fully trained and self-sufficient on one area of quality inspection (assembly, manufacturing, shipping / receiving).
