Quality Assurance Coordinator – Evansville, IN

DLB Custom Extrusions is looking for a Quality Assurance/Continual Improvement Coordinator for our plant in Evansville, Indiana. This individual ensures that the final product observes the Company’s quality standards. This individual is responsible for the development and implementation of inspection activities, detection and resolution of problems, and the delivery of satisfactory outcomes. In addition to the quality assurance responsibilities, this individual will ensure the Company’s quality management system conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and legal requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

  • Develop and implement quality standards to ensure all production and manufacturing procedures and quality testing on products are done to Company standards prior to their release
  • Outline quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Interpret and comply with quality assurance standards
  • Elaborate the procedures of sampling and guidelines for collection and reporting quality data
  • Oversee the implementation and ensure efficiency of inspection and quality systems
  • Plan, perform and oversee inspection and testing of products to ensure the quality of final product
  • Document quality assurance activities, such as internal audits
  • Understand and follow Lean Manufacturing philosophy which focuses on minimizing waste within the manufacturing systems while simultaneously maximizing productivity
  • Assist with the implementation of 5S which is the methodology that results in a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity
  • Understand and implement Kaizen which is the philosophy regarding the processes of continuous improvement for operations and employees
  • Analyze customer grievances and other non-compliance issues
  • Gather and organize statistical quality data
  • Inspect data to detect areas for improvement
  • Elaborate,recommend and oversee improvement actions
  • Report on results of quality activities
  • Analyze audit outcomes and carry out appropriate corrective procedures
  • Oversee risk management procedures
  • Ensure ongoingabidance by industry regulatory and quality requirements
  • Providetraining and support to quality assurance team on systems, policies,procedures, and core processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned byManagement

Quality Management System Responsibilities

  • Meet the requirements for ISO 9001certification
  • Understand the needs of all parties withregards to certification and ongoing requirements
  • Establish processes and continual improvementprocedures
  • Ensure process flow is maintained and trackcontinual improvement of the QMS
  • Manage the risks and opportunities for productquality
  • Ensure continual compliance with ISO
  • Monitor the quality objectives that have beenestablished and report information to Management
  • Provide internal and external communicationwith employees/customers/vendors
  • Determine policies and communication to ensurethat products and services have successfully met the requirements
  • Perform internal audits
  • ·Develop and implement procedures to ensurecorrective action for nonconforming product
  • Performs other duties as assigned byManagement


Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma required /College Degree strongly preferred

Additional Qualifications:

  • Understand and follow Lean Manufacturing philosophy
  • Understand and implement 5S
  • Experience with implementation of Kaizen
  • Possess quality of leadership and independence as well as being able to work with a team environment
  • Professional certification strongly preferred, such as Six Sigma and/or Quality Auditor
  • Superb computer competence, including database management
  • Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods and tools required
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, control practices and defect management practice

Must possess strong analytical skills, organizational, and communication skills

  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and to manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to be responsive to needs of employees, customers, and vendors
