Psychiatrist (Adult & Children) – New York, NY 10002

This position is Per-Diem: 14 Hours a week(Flexible)/No weekends

A New York State-certified mental health facility and approved primary healthcare facility, the CCC delivers outpatient mental health services, PROS express program, crisis services, HIV family mental health services, Asian bi-cultural services, vocational rehabilitation, housing, primary healthcare, parent education and support and job training opportunities, as well as legal and financial services and screenings for entitlement benefits and Food Stamp enrollment.

The Community Consultation Center’s (CCC) philosophical approach is that all human beings have the potential for growth and change. The goal is to help individuals regain control of their lives as quickly as possible in order to resume their personal and family lives.

Treatment is based on identifying and supporting the inner strengths of children, adults and families to better cope with personal and environmental stress

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Psychiatry required
  • Must be New York State licensed Medical Doctor ( MD)
  • Excellent knowledge of Psychotropic medications
  • Excellent clinical knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be interested in Community Mental Health
  • Certified to see Children (preferred)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Psychiatric Assessments for new patients
  • Attend Intake review meetings, incidents review meetings and QA meetings
  • Oversight of assigned clinic patients and their Psychotropic Medications.
  • Evaluate all referred patients for psychotropic medication and prescribe
  • Evaluate crises for hospitalization
  • Prepare referral letter to designated hospital if hospitalization is required
  • Meet with Director and co-director around treatment issues and treatment protocols
  • Review and sign Treatment plans
  • Other related duties as assigned
