Project Background:

Project Schedulers coordinate and lead the project planning and scheduling activities for Datacenter Integration and Technical Infrastructure team. Position will be required to work under minimal supervision but will be provided with clearly defined goals, objectives, and key performance indicators. This Project Scheduler may work on existing datacenter construction or new datacenter projects, and performs coordination and scheduling compliance work in collaboration with General Contractors, Contractors and/or our lease providers ensuring there is consistency and alignment with corporate master scheduling discipline.

Project scheduler also serves as a scheduling and scheduling software technical expert for our team ensuring best practices of planning and scheduling is being followed by the contractor in accordance with the scheduling specification. Although this position is an Americas region focused role, they will also be required to coordinate and align with other regional schedulers within our global team.

Develop logic and resource based scheduling templates for the Datacenter Integration and Technical Infrastructure Management (ITIM) team and leased datacenter programs. These templates will be the basis for a new Workflow Management Program that is to be implement for the Global ITIM Team. Scheduler/Planner will work with our Global Program Management Team to ensure accuracy of these templates and assist in the implementation of templates into our Workforce Management (IcM) program. Work will include the development of high-level workflow and process documentation to support integration efforts and socialization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the development of a detailed project scheduling template along with regional project teams and key partners and/or contractors.
  • Develop and improve status collection process to ensure quality progress reporting.
  • Analyze resource loading and adjust the schedule or initiate corrective action as appropriate
  • Participate in the scheduling portion of Project Reviews, as required.
  • Facilitate the team in revising logic for schedule compression, forensic analysis to identify cause and effect of delay and reporting.
  • Work with master scheduling and the established system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules and keep the project team fully informed of information.
  • Interpret project team needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests with regards to project schedule

Key Deliverables:

  • Early stages – Contract to Baseline is primary focus. Scheduling foundation early is imperative to the project thereafter.
  • Strong focus in association with Collaborative Planning which are utilized to improve construction productivity / delivery success from the off-set of the project.
  • Support in establishing / enforcing 12 core scheduling deliverables:

o Regular schedule submissions (.XER Files)

o Health Checks / Structure (Work Breakdown Structure)

o Schedule Analytics & Content Analysis

o Contractual Documentation – clarifications & conformance

o Approved Basis of Schedule document & reporting cycles / calendars

o Semi-Quantitative Risk Analysis/ Feasibility reviews

o Connection between Planning (Schedule) & Collaborative Planning / Pull Planning / Workload automation

o Early works progress monitoring

o Site Walks & Progress photos

o Agreed Key Milestone Identification and tracking mechanism

o Agreed Cx sequence, logic & Tagging tracking mechanism

o Agreed Earned Value Progress monitoring methodology


Required Skills:

  • Candidate must have Facilities experience!
  • Expert use of Planning software – Primavera P6 and/or ASTA.
  • Understanding of core Planning & Project Controls practices.
  • Open-Willingness to learn.
  • Construction & Commissioning experience.
  • Concise & clear communication skills both visually & verbally
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Expert use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • 5 plus years of experience in scheduling related roles
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project required
  • Direct experience in data center construction a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field desired
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or related background a plus
