Purpose of Position

Management and oversight of service delivery efforts associated with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation within assigned district which includes Team 1 including Santa Fe and Espanola.
How does it get done?
Provides management of a comprehensive array of vocational rehabilitation services. Management and oversight of service delivery efforts associated with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation within assigned district. Provides management of a comprehensive array of vocational rehabilitation services with responsibility for meeting annual federal standards and indicators and state performance-based budget goals.
Supervises up to 10 employees directly, acting on Leave requests, conducting annual performance evaluations, and administer disciplinary action as necessary. Provides direct oversight, review, and approval for participants cases to include but not limited to eligibilities, Individual Plan for Employment approvals, budgetary considerations, and dealing with participant complaints and case closures. Conducts coaching, mentoring, and training of assigned employees.

People with disabilities, New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Staff, NM Partner Agencies, and the General Public.
The Ideal candidate will possess the following:
Master's Degree in Rehabilitation counseling or related field.
Two years' experience in management.
Three years' experience in case management.
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below. A hiring agency will designate that a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
These combinations of education and experience qualify you for the position:
- Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
- If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.
Must eligible for Level One K – 12 Rehabilitation Counselor License one year after hire.
Computer, tablet and general office equipment, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal and computer and telephone usage. Must operate a state vehicle occasionally locally, within the state and occasionally out of state. Regular travel is required within service territory, including occasional overnight travel. Must have the ability to lift 20 lbs.
