Procurement Manager – Akron, OH 44306

The Procurement Manager will have direct reports consisting of Senior Buyers and Buyers and has managerial responsibility.

Direct the preparation of purchase requisitions and procurement activities to assure delivery of quality products, on time, to satisfy production requirements.

Monitor procurement procedures to comply with governmental and policy regulations.

Develop and maintain sound relationship with the supplier base to provide the necessary support of divisional product requirements.

Manage supplier cost, quality, and delivery driving resolution within the site team and, where necessary, escalating for additional support; implement actions to resolve supplier non-conformance issues.

Drive annual cost down and minimize supplier cost increases for assigned commodities or those led by their direct reports in support of site Purchase Cost Variance (PCV) goals.

Support sourcing of new products and new product introduction activities in line with Meggitt policies, processes, and strategy as assigned.

Support development and execution of commodity strategies aligned with agreed upon site or Group requirements for assigned commodities and indirect categories.

Supporting the Procurement Director in meeting the Site’s business objectives (including daily attendance at site DLA’s as required) and supporting gap analysis & actions to support the MPS deliverables for supply chain topics

Supervise day-to-day procurement and buyers for assigned commodities.

Manage supplier and supply base risk in line with site specific and Meggitt requirements.

Ensure trade compliance issues are properly managed across procurement team.

Participate in site-specific procurement and supplier quality development when required including but not limited to when materials or services procured are unique to the site or to support new program introduction.

Develop and deploy (in conjunction with Division and group teams) Procurement processes, strategies and practices to drive continuous improvement and aligned activities across Meggitt.

Lead, manage, and coach in line with Meggitt values and high performance culture.

Develop and promote procurement talent within the site.

Ensure that the procurement team is represented both internally and externally with the highest level of professional, ethical, and performance standards.

Carry out other duties as may be required within the job holder’s capability consistent with the terms and conditions of employment.
