The selected candidate will be a structural engineer working primarily on the ACS program supporting both the shop floor build and analysis work. Might require to travel 10% of the time. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels and self-starter. Candidate must be able to collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, materials and process engineers including technicians. Essential Functions:

  • The candidate will primarily support the ACS program with the opportunity to support other programs in the future
  • Perform structural analysis (dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis).
  • Perform structural analysis using finite element modeling with commercial software’s such as NX, Femap, Abaqus
  • Support the shop floor by providing stress analysis to nonconformance items
  • The analysis will be done on composite materials and metallic structures
  • This candidate will support material review board (MRB) shop floor and other special projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 or more years of experience within the structural engineering function/ or Master degree in a STEM field and 3 year of experience within the structural engineering function
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain a special program access clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in finite element modeling using Nastran, Patran, Femap, Abaqus, and NX
  • Secret clearance
  • Experience interrogating designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Experience working with Composite Materials
  • Experience with structural dynamics and loads
  • A self-starter and able to execute with limited supervision
  • Experience with internal loads models and dynamics highly preferred.
  • Preference will be given to degrees in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, and Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience working on loads and dynamics models and large scale testing is preferred including support of mechanical testing correlation and report write-up
