Essential qualification: The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline. The project specifically requires automation of laser microirradiation and computational modeling of laser microirradiation induced thermal and mechanical impact on cells and tissues of eye. Proficiency in Matlab, AutoCAD, Finite element Analysis, C++, Python and LabView programming is required.
The candidate will be responsible for instrumentation, software development, integration, quality test/control, and analytical method validation or verification activities. The selected candidate will have excellent opportunities to interact with experts in Optogenetics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, and Clinical/preclinical research for multidisciplinary training. The candidate will have opportunity to also work in our highly rated animal facilities that include behavioral and electrophysiological instruments.
