The Wayne State University Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies, located in the College of Education invites applicants to submit applications for part-time faculty positions as course instructors for graduate and undergraduate level courses. Candidates will be reviewed and placed in a pool for consideration as openings arise. Applications will be accepted throughout the year and appointments will be made as needed. Please be advised that the need for part time faculty varies from year to year. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Job Description
Teach Graduate or Undergraduate level courses (up to 8 credit hours) in the following Kinesiology, Health, and Sport Studies program areas:
Athletic Training
Exercise and Sport Science
Community Health
Health and Physical Education Teaching
Sport Administration and Management
Lifestyle Fitness Activities
Plan and organize course to include syllabus preparation, class instruction according to the officially approved course syllabus, use the Canvas online course management system, maintain office hours, give and grade assignments, and upload final grades.

Qualifications
For Graduate Level Courses: Earned terminal degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Community Health, Sport Management, Exercise and Sport Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training or a directly related field is preferred. A Master's degree with significant industry experience may also be considered.
For Undergraduate Level Courses: Master's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Community Health, Sport Management, Exercise and Sport Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training or a directly related field.
For Lifestyle Fitness Activities courses (LFA) (e.g., Yoga, Zumba, Team Sports, Strength Training, Personal Fitness, etc.), applicants must have:
A Bachelor's degree and 2 years of directly related experience (e.g., coaching the specific sport, teaching a similar course at an institution of higher education, etc.) OR
A High School diploma, a professional certification in the relevant physical activity discipline (e.g., Yoga instructor certification, Zumba certification), and significant professional teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience and excellence in higher education instruction.
