Reviews and evaluates Public Water Systems (PWS) data related to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Ground Water, Revised Total Coliform, Chemical, Surface Water and Public Notice (PN) rules.
Reviews and evaluates Ground Water Rule, Revised Total Coliform Rule, Chemical Rule, Surface Water Rule PN data as covered in 30 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 290rules and stored in the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) and the Consolidated Compliance and Enforcement Data System (CCEDS) database for compliance and enforcement processes. Reviews data submitted by PWSs and laboratories. Identifies systems with violations and determines/initiates appropriate follow-up. Provides technical assistance related to Revised Total Coliform Rule to city and county officials; water system owners, operators, engineers, and lawyers; agency staff; other governmental entities and the general public. Provides technical assistance to city and county officials; water system owners, operators, engineers, and lawyers; agency staff; other governmental entities; and any other individuals seeking registration of a public water supply or seeking to modify data related to a public water supply registration. Works with the team to create/review/revise documents such as, but not limited to, reports, correspondence and standard operating procedures following all applicable institutional procedures, rules and policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree. One (1) year of experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or a related field or the equivalent experience.
Excellent communication skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and TEAMS and PCs. Ability to learn and apply TCEQ 30 TAC Chapter 290 rules and learn the use of TCEQ’s SDWIS, CCEDS and Central Registry databases. Skills in written and verbal communication, organization, time management, attention to details, working independently, and following institutional standard operating procedures and institutional paper and electronic file management requirements. Ability to move to and from work space with little other movement required using wheelchair or other aid; learn, remember, and integrate complex concepts, difficult procedures, and complicated processes; communicate verbally with clients/customers/coworkers to gather information &/or explain policies/procedures; ability to routinely record information such as draft correspondence/reports/documents/policy/procedures, prepare case narratives, or prepare other lengthy documents using handwritten or mechanical means; perform visual activities requiring prolonged attention to detail such as editing and proofreading; hear and understand speech to interact with coworkers/clients/customers on a routine or frequent basis with use of amplifying equipment/hearing aids if needed.
