Medical Scheduling Coordinator – Denver, CO 80230

Job Description:

We are Colorado Kidney Care, a successful specialty practice in the Denver Area, providing the highest level of care to patients with kidney disease. We are seeking a qualified Scheduling Coordinator to work full time in our central administrative office in the Lowry area of Denver. This position handles data entry, scheduling and medical records preparation for all new patients. This position has no direct patient contact but a great deal of telephone communication with new patients. The ideal candidate will be proficient at gathering information and data received while on the phone and inputting into our electronic scheduling and patient record system. We are a growing practice recruiting qualified medical professionals to join our team.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Scheduling patient appointments in electronic scheduling system
  • Collecting all patient data possible via phone (demographics, insurance info., other provider info., etc.) and entering into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Assist with preparing and mailing of new patient packets
  • Heavy communication with Physicians via email and the EMR system
  • Utilize, perform data entry and maintain the E.M.R. software system
  • Process daily and monthly reporting as needed
  • Internal medical records requests for appointments
  • Practice management software entry and maintenance
  • Distribution of incoming correspondences
  • Attaching patient records and administrative documents in the EMR data base
  • Answer and triage high volume of incoming phone calls
  • Maintenance and handling of incoming messages
  • Utilization and maintenance of Microsoft Outlook
  • Cross coverage of other duties as needed and other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Two years experience in the medical field with at least one year of patient scheduling experience
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism in appearance, behavior, and communication
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing in a precise and clear manner
  • Possess and display a high level of patience
  • Able to effectively multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Must have intermediate to advanced skill levels with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to function at a high level of efficiency without constant supervision
  • Work well with others in a cooperative and supportive manner
  • Employee must have a high school diploma or GED


Valued but not required skills and experience (optional):

  • Experience with EMR is preferred.
