Busy South Florida outpatient practice specializing in mental health/psychiatric treatment is actively conducting interviews for medical insurance billers/coders and collections.
This is a full-time position. Important that this candidate have thorough working knowledge of how to bill Medicare, private insurance and understanding of out-of-network billing, along with knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Work collaboratively with the Insurance Billing team
Be able to work independently on projects with and without supervision
Data entry of patient claims and billing information
Verifying patient coverage
Submitting billing information to the insurance companies
Follow up on unpaid/denied claims EOB posting and running statement reports
Effectively work claims that are 90 days and greater
Submit required documentation to satisfy insurance requests for patient care
Field patient calls concerning their claims
Communicate to management the status of claims
Assist in on-going training and support to admin. staff to increase claim efficiency and accuracy
Must be team player with positive attitude
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
2-3 years of recent, hands-on experience with professional coding and billing
Working knowledge of out-of-network billing required
CPC certificate a plus
Out-patient drug & alcohol rehabilitation billing experience a plus.
Psychiatry coding experience a plus
Knowledge and use of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9/10 resources.
Must be knowledgeable of all aspects of the billing cycle;
Must be comfortable using Internet resources; Availity, Medicare, AAPC, other resource sites as applicable to job
Must be well organized and detail oriented
