Title: Materials Manager
Hours: Full-time; M-F

Under the direction of the Director of Business Services, the Materials Manager is responsible for the timely ordering, acquisition, distribution, and maintenance of all supplies and products, including capital and non-capital inventory items. The Materials Manager also supervises the Courier, Purchasing Assistant, and Retail Services employees.
Oversee the purchasing, stocking, and inventory of medical and office supplies, as well as the acquisition and maintenance of equipment.
Review, evaluate and approve all purchase orders pertaining to medical and business supplies, furniture, and equipment in a timely manner.
Utilize ordering software, generate inventory reports, and just-in-time inventory.
Solicits proposals from various vendors as well as negotiates and acts as the contact person for all purchase agreements for materials that may or may not be addressed by a group purchasing organization (GPO); ensures vendor compliance.
Provide administrative support to management in the form of reports, budgets, supply utilization analysis and capital expenditures explanations, as requested.
Develop applicable policies and procedures designed to streamline the procurement, inventory control, receiving, storage, and distribution of needed supplies and equipment.
Meet with buyers for budgetary research, evaluate product services, and supplier performance.
Work with surgeons to determine items that can be streamlined vs what is needed on an individual basis.
Monitor buyers and purchasing activity.

Education, Knowledge, Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, or other related discipline
Adherence to ROC’s Core Competencies
Strong time management skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met to maintain sufficient supply volumes on hand
Maintain and provide current understanding of industry’s best practices and technology trends
Identify tools, processes and metrics to optimize supplier value
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Analytical problem-solving skills
Financial skills including cost modeling, cost analysis, and repair vs. buy analysis
Ability to leverage metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance
Adherence to HIPAA and other clinic standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment
At least 5 years of progressive experience in materials management and sourcing within a medical and manufacturing environment.
This position operates in a professional office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
