The Manager of Transplant Patient Financial Services is responsible for the daily financial operations, coordination, reporting, and business services activity for the Penn Transplant Institute at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Oversees the timely, seamless, and accurate financial clearances for all inpatient and outpatient transplant related services and directly manages challenging cases. Partners with relevant parties across the Health System to provide oversight for the transplant patient revenue cycle including management of patient accounts to align with payor requirements. Interfaces with the Managed Care department to ensure the sharing of insurance plan updates, challenges with coverage and negotiation of single case agreements. Manages the Medicare Cost Reporting process with Corporate Finance for organ acquisition related expenses and facilitation of the completion of annual time studies. Manages the outside expenses for transplant patient services such as evaluation services subject to organ acquisition and living donor expenses to include external paired exchange invoicing. Directly supervises the Transplant Financial Coordinators and fosters a team dynamic of excellence and service. Maintains knowledge of all relevant systems including the EPIC revenue cycle applications and ensures the competency of the Patient Financial Coordinators.
Bachelor’s Degree Business, Finance or Health Administration And 5+ years Related work experience in a medical office, hospital patient accounting or registration area or other health care setting
Master’s Degree Business/finance And/Or equivalent work related experience preferred And 3+ year
Direct supervision in a health care related environment related to patient financial services
