Our growing company is searching for top talent to join our team in the role of Manager of Transportation & Logistics located in the vibrant community of Windom, MN.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with customer sales, order management, accounting, & shipping
  • Guide & support the logistics coordinators & documentation team
  • Create policies for logistics activities
  • Direct shipping operations to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, & timeline objectives
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, exports, & customer issues
  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective & effective means of transporting
  • Negotiate transportation rates
  • Coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, or final disposal of resources
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers
  • Direct inbound & outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management
  • Establish & monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, & performance evaluation
  • Monitor product export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory & legal requirements
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies for product delivery
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:

  • 5 years of logistical experience
  • Dispatching experience an asset
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Ability to communicate & understand information & ideas
  • Adaptable to changes and re organizing actions to adapt
