Maintenance Reliability Team Lead Job Description

The Maintenance Reliability Team Lead is responsible for achieving the highest level of reliability for plant equipment through experienced troubleshooting practices and sound judgement. The Reliability Lead will use advanced training and knowledge to perform equipment, process and systems maintenance to troubleshoot and identify opportunities for improvement on our manufacturing equipment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Personager, the Reliability Lead will support and lead maintenance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with national and international standards. This position will be working with the Maintenance Team to succeed and meet the Company's expectations.

Maintenance Reliability Team Lead Job Purpose:
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Maintenance Reliability Team Lead essential job functions and duties:

· Leads Reliability Centered Maintenance Process.

· Maintains the PM Process based on RCM to include condition based monitoring

· Daily communication with staff and crews for day-to-day requirements.

· Authorizes and schedules routine contract work.

· Develop and execute a maintenance program to avoid downtime and quality issues across a PET recycling manufacturing operation.

· Train and provide development opportunities for the maintenance team.

· Manage and/or assist with equipment and capital project installation as required.

· Utilize reliability knowledge as it pertains to mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, process control documentation, mechanical integrity methods, tools, equipment, repair alteration and replacement of industrial process mechanical and instrumentation/electrical equipment.

· Track work requests and manage maintenance priorities.

· Ensure Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Critical PM compliance items are completed.

· Follow all LOTO procedures and recommends opportunities for improvement.

· Strong organizational skills with ability to execute responsibilities and prioritize in a multitask environment.

· Designs, installs and troubleshoot various PLC, controls and electrical equipment/systems.

· Fabricates, installs and troubleshoots various piping, pneumatic and mechanical equipment/systems.

· Manual dexterity required for working with tools, operating machinery and computers.

· Identify process opportunities in a continuous improvement (CI) environment.

· Creates, documents and performs strong Preventive/Predictive maintenance tasks/procedures to eliminate equipment downtime as assigned.

· Participates in proactive maintenance activities such as FMEA’s (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)

· Documents all performed work in CMMS system in sufficient detail to capture strong historical data for future analysis.

· Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

· Enforce GMP, Safety and audit standards.

· Work independently or in a team as needed.

Maintenance Reliability Team Lead Basic Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional level engineering work experience
  • Working knowledge of Failure mode and effects analysis, root cause analysis, statistics and probability, complex technical problem solving
  • Knowledge in Data analysis techniques such as Statistical Process Control, Fault Tree, Fishbone, Weibull, Six Sigma (DMAIC)
  • Familiar with large electromechanical equipment, controls, and data acquisition, vibration analysis, lubrication and other NDE methods

· Understanding of mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and process control documents

· Basic understanding of rotating equipment and proper maintenance techniques.

  • Strong quantitative acumen with the ability to perform data analysis including the ability to perform trending and unit-to-unit comparison Data analysis and trending software/techniques
  • Ability to meet firm deadlines; ability to build and foster strong working relationships; ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
  • The ability to develop new maintenance standard operating procedures based on manufacturing recommendations.
  • Must submit to a drug screen
  • Pass background check

Maintenance Reliability Team Lead Requirements:

· Continuous work near noise, heat and chemicals

· Must have own tools

· Frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling.

· Be able to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekends/holidays as scheduled.

· Collect, analyze, and report asset performance and work with teams to implement methods to improve performance and sustain existing efficiencies.

  • Develop solutions and provide recommendations for major equipment modifications, renovations, installations, additions, and replacements to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Support planning and scheduling standard processes to effectively execute all down-days and outages.
  • Participate in ARP assessments to evaluate ARP practice effectiveness and develop improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and reliability personnel to ensure the reliability of equipment on all existing and new assets.
  • Participate in technical studies on equipment and develop corrective action plans to maximize availability and reliability.
  • Facilitate training sessions and assist in identification of skill development needs for plant personnel and contractors to support ARP, maintenance, and safety.
  • Identify critical equipment spares, material, component needs, and coordinate with maintenance, procurement, and stores to identify re-order processes/quantities to minimize downtime by using Reliability Centered Maintenance methodologies.
  • Participate in Failure Analysis on maintenance issues.
  • Assist with Annual Action Planning process.
