Logistics Coordinator (Bilingual) Norsan Norsan

Norsan is currently looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator. (Bilingual Spanish and English)

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch of local routes and attend pending and requests before your departure.
  • Ensure that all foreign routes depart on time and be aware during the route.
  • Take corrective actions of trucks made by dispatchers the night before.
  • Relationship management with service representatives.
  • Inspect, monitor the units and work closely with Paula Garcia (Logistics Analyst) regarding maintenance {PMs, Insurance, Records, Badges, stickers, etc (not assigning to shuttle driver)}
  • Daily supervision of weights on routes.
  • Daily and weekly programming of trucks and service representatives.
  • Daily modification of truck (truck) and service representative if necessary.
  • Attention to the service representatives during the day (assistance in the truck, accidents, clients, traffic, weather).
  • Sales requests (extra orders and out of route) – review additional cost, reason, and analyze the profit to execute the decision.
  • Assignment of routes and stop numbers to new customers in the system (SAP).
  • Weekly review of routes by a number of clients and weight.
  • Propose design options for new routes and/or modification of existing ones.
  • Route maintenance (addresses, customer lists in SAP and Excel files with stop number, time windows).
  • General training of functions to the service representative.
  • Electronic log-book training to the representative in conjunction with Paula Garcia.
  • Initial interview based on needs.
  • Talk to Penske and Ryder to get a shop truck status.
  • Follow post-accident / incident procedures i.e take rep to alcohol and drug test.
  • Keep a record of Time OFF.
  • Review hours with Paula, identify errors, such as falsification of times, and talk to reps.
  • Inspection (physical) of trucks in the daily warehouse.
  • Establish and maintain a professional and friendly relationship with transportation personnel like all Prime Meats.
  • Have a teamwork mentality at all times.

Report directly to Logisitcs ManagerQualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • 1 year of logistics exp.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic English and Spanish -Bilingual.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Hands-on decision-making ability.

Preferred Skills
  • SAP and Direct route Exp.
  • 2+ years’ experience in transportation/logistics role.
  • ELD experience.
  • DOT knowledge.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish and English).
  • Open-minded and team-oriented.
