Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM)
1st American Systems and Services, an ABSS Solutions Company is a provider of full-time contract positions in support of the US Air Forces Family Advocacy Program at Military Treatment Facilities located outside of the Continental United States. We have been a provider of these critical services and personnel for over four years and are looking for qualified and dedicated mental health professionals to add to the team.
We are currently seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to fill the roles of the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager at Misawa & Kadena Air Bases in Japan. The Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM) is the primary provider of treatment services for assigned maltreatment and prevention cases, coordinating services for families and monitoring client participation and progress utilizing the modalities of social casework, psychotherapy, and psycho-educational interventions. The Family Advocacy Program advocates for nonviolent communities through the use of broad-based education and awareness activities along with the identification and treatment of family maltreatment incidents.
Misawa Air Base is the home of the 35th Fighter Wing and is located in the northeast portion of the main Japanese island of Honshu in Aomori Prefecture (approximately 400 miles north of Tokyo). Misawa is a small city of about 43,000 people which sits on the southern shore of picturesque Lake Ogawara.
Kadena Air Base is the home of the 18th Fighter Wing and is located in the towns of Kadena and Chatan and the city of Okinawa, in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Okinawa is comprised of over 160 islands, 47 of which are inhabited remote islands. The Okinawan Islands are surrounded by the East China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, and consist of the Miyako Islands, Yaeyama Islands, and others. License: Must be a U.S. licensed clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Master’s degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited school.
Social Work Degree is required (no exceptions)
Two years full-time post-master’s degree experience (within the last three years) in professional clinical counseling service programs to men, women, and children who are abusive or abused. Must also have experience as a group therapy facilitator or co-leader. Experience working with professionals and agencies that provide community support and counseling intervention services to children and families.
