Description: The position of Interviewing Clerk is a paraprofessional position assigned to the Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency with primary responsibility for reviewing applications to collect demographic information and/or provide information and referral services. This position is ideal for someone who has excellent computer/data entry skills, a high degree of organizational skills and enjoys the challenge of tight deadlines.
Location: Fort Lauderdale. Applicants interested in working in counties/cities other than listed will need to apply for positions advertised for those specific areas on the PeopleFirst System
Hourly Salary: $10.58
Typical duties:
Determines eligibility for expedited food assistance services;
Explains eligibility to applicants and recipients applying/receiving public assistance;
Enters client data into database based on intake of caller information;
Maintains necessary files and records;
Completes general clerical duties including using computer to input data of clients who are applying for public assistance benefits;
Answers phones;
Uses photocopy machine, scanner and other office equipment;
Conducts application registration;
Schedules appointments;
Performs intake interviews;
Conducts statewide clearance and reconciles any discrepancies on all household members;
Maintain office email accounts and serves as clerical backup for units.
Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of clerical or public contact experience. College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter, or 720 class room hours for each year of the required experience
