International Programs Graduate Assistant (FWS) – Washington, DC 20016

Summary/Objective

The SIS International Programs FWS Graduate Assistant will assist the SIS Office of International Programs by fulfilling the following responsibilities:

  • Marketing SIS’s summer, semester, and dual-degree study abroad programs
  • Researching (new programs, partners, internships, trends in international education, etc.)
  • Maintaining program website information and social media outreach
  • Assisting in the coordination of the SIS Summer Internship placements
  • Support the analysis of data, surveys and evaluations to achieve office goals
  • Assisting with day-to-day office duties
  • Special projects as assigned

Salary Range

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and enrollment in a Master’s program at American University
  • Candidates must be reliable, detail-oriented, and flexible, and have the ability to both multi-task and work independently on assigned projects
  • Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and someone who is a self-starter that is willing to take initiative

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of/interest in international education and study abroad is highly desired
  • Office or administrative experience with experience specifically in website content management and marketing/ promotional efforts
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, MailChimp and use of Google platforms
  • Experience with social media including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
