Injection Maintenance Apprentice

About the Role



PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Performs entry-level preventive maintenance and corrective repairs of injection molding machines/equipment in an on-the-job training working environment. Working under close supervision, assists in monitoring injection machine operations and performance.

Assist with change overs and starts-up qualification / first article testing. Support mechanics during PM’s and equipment maintenance.

Supports with mold changes and working with hot runners.

Observes and received training, instruction and guidance from various co-workers, supervisors & managers.

Practices and reinforces AMCOR safety procedures and practices. Will lead by example by always adhering essential PPE regulations. Prevent and report any unsafe situation or act to shift supervisor.

Maintain 5S housekeeping standards at all times and follow and reinforce GMP guidelines with the team.

Coordinate any change overs (Mold, Color. ETC). Complete the essential documentation as required.

Understand, analyze and troubleshoot product processing, equipment and Mold related issues.

Records and maintains equipment preventative maintenance and change over documentation

Ability to climb up ladders to work in elevated areas of the injection molding department.

Basic computer skills- to complete work orders (SAP)

Demonstrates the ability to perform effectively in a team environment

Expected to pursue education in industrial maintenance

Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends or nights

About You

High school diploma with at least six month of apprentice work

. One-year certificate from college or technical school; or at least two years of work-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Plastic Industry desired. Hands on experience working with tools. Basic understanding of process and auxiliary equipment.
