  • Participate in developing technical concepts for new projects
  • Participate in planning custom control systems for automated machinery
  • Specify and direct procurement of components
  • Develop control system designs and electrical schematics at various levels
  • Control Panel Designs
  • Detailed Schematics and Wiring Diagrams
  • Cables and Connectors
  • Wiring Harness and Cable Management
  • Some device setup and configuration
  • Setup and configure devices
  • Component and Panel Testing
  • Communications Device Testing – Industrial networking (Serial, DeviceNet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, ASI, Profibus, SERCOS, etc.)
  • Setup of safety controllers and standards (ANSI/RIA 15.9, OSHA)
  • Develop technical documentation of finished products
  • Interface with customers
  • Assist in testing, installation and commissioning
  • Track progress against cost and time goals
  • Provide technical support for startup and commissioning
  • Generate end-customer training material and participate in hands on training

  • Panel Drawings
  • Electrical Ladder Schematics
  • Parametric Modeling Environments such as E3 Electrical
  • Basic HMI programming (Wonderware, Indusoft, etc.) skills are bonus


  • Good familiarity with:
  • NEC code
  • UL508A
  • NFPA 79
  • NEC 70E
  • 3+ years experience in industrial automation and/or machine design
  • Strong software skills in industrial controls
  • Willing to submit to a background check and drug test
  • Valid drivers license
  • Authorized to work in the U.S (qualify as a “US Person” per US Federal standards)
  • Ability to travel (primarily within the US) on an periodic basis (between 5-10 wk/yr)
