Assists with moving patients, exam room preparation and answering phones in the work areas.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED General Studies RequiredCertifications, Licensures and RegistrationsNursing Assistant Certification NC Dept. of Health and Human Services PreferredCPR American Heart Association *Required*CPR certification within three months of hire.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Physically capable of heavy lifting, pushing, pulling and unlimited walking and standing.- Customer service skills.- Ability to evaluate and handle specific needs of the patient based on age and developmental status.

Job Specific Duties-Transport Analysis: Carefully considers the needs of the patients when selecting the mode of transportation and communicates effectively-Transport Education: Patiently and clearly explains reason for transport to the patient prior to the transit-Radiation Safety: Follows Radiation Protection Policies to avoid unnecessary exposure to the public and to self-Organization: Maintains a clean well-stocked and organized work area and notifies appropriate personnel when stock needs replenishing.-Quality Control: Verifies the identity of the patient and ensures that the correct patient is transported as evidenced by no more than two documented occurrences per year-Equipment Safety: Demonstrates proper/safe handling and maneuverability of patient transportation equipment and patient related equipment; Shows competence in oxygen tank exchange-Transport Guidelines: Routinely transports patients independently.-Professionalism: Upholds a professional working relationship at all times and adheres to department rules. Practices teamwork and adheres to Standards of Behavior.-Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by management.Physical and Behavioral Requirements- Physical requirements include occasional sitting- Frequent stooping, kneeling, constant standing, walking, and reaching- Heavy physical force is required (exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently- Visual acuity for accurate reading of various documents, reports, records, and manuals.- Ability to hear and speak is required to effectively communicate with patients and staff
