Job Summary/Basic Function:
This posting is to build a pool of Associate Faculty to teach the Human Development 110/Career & Life Planning class for the Counseling/Human Development/Human Services department to begin fall 2018.
The Career & Life Planning class is a three credit course designed to help students work through the career development process to make solid life and career choices, and to help students select a college major.
Activities focus on self-assessment through testing, values clarification, occupational surveys, identifications of strengths, and research in the world of work.
Associate faculty should have the appropriate training in career counseling and experience to deliver the curriculum of this course. Candidates interested in this opportunity should demonstrate that they have completed graduate course work in career counseling theory, tests and measurements, and experience administering and interpreting standardized interest assessments.

- Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education or closely related field;
- Graduate course work in Career Theory and Tests & Measurement;
- Previous training or experience providing career counseling or teaching career classes.
- Successful experience teaching adults in an academic setting, preferably at least one year in a community college
- Successful experience instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion
- Experience teaching students with learning differences and/or learning disabilities
- Experience with technology-assisted instruction

Salary: $3,041.71 per 3 credit class
