Job Description

The DRI Office of Education is looking for creative applicants that have a love for learning to apply for the Hourly STEM Education – Communication and Grant Support Assistant. This position will work with the Office of Education faculty to help support a variety of projects. A background in education or STEM topics can help offer valuable insight. Duties include supporting the work of the Office of Education in the areas of Communication (including but not limited to: Social Media, Newsletter, Press Release, video production, blog administration and website oversight). Other duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and skill in using social media (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and others) Technology, and innovative digital storytelling tools.

  • Demonstrated excellence in both written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time pressure with minimal supervision.

  • Strong collaboration, time management, organizations, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills, and a track record of working effectively across race, gender, sexual orientation and other social identities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management

  • Graphic design

  • Website management

  • Knowledge of STEM Education

Physical Requirements:

Extensive time in front of the computer, ability to travel to film video content

Conditions of Employment:

Position is grant funded and will be working to support various Office of Education projects.

Compensation Rate/Benefits:

$16-$19 per hour – 20 hours per week/no benefits
