We are seeking an experienced professional to manager our Reservations Department at the Cape Codder Resort & Spa while ensuring that the highest standard of service and the best possible guest experience is maintained.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of staff in taking, recording and canceling reservations in the front office of the hotel
  • Trains staff to "upsell" and the "art of closing the deal
  • Answers phone calls regarding reservations and general information questions
  • Take records and cancels reservations in front office and input them in the computer system. Experience with Opera computer system a plus.
  • Receives contracts detailing room allotments for conventions from sales representative and feeds information into terminal
  • Corresponds with groups and travel agents to answer special requests for rooms and rates
  • Verifies that daily listings of guests' arrival and individual guest folios are updated in the computer system
  • Delegates assistants to train staff in taking reservations, checking in and out guests and in operating computer terminals and printers to store and receive reservation data
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedule and expedites workflow
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises 5 to 10 employees in the Front Desk/Reservations Department.
  • Interviewing, hiring and training employees
  • Planning, assigning and directing work
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
