The Ampler Group IT Helpdesk Specialist will have an overall responsibility for providing support to all in-restaurant technology which includes, but is not limited to; application assistance, network troubleshooting, and device maintenance, installations and replacements. The ideal candidate is well versed in networking, firewall configurations, technology troubleshooting, application support, and policy enforcement. The IT Helpdesk Specialist well help the company in maintaining operations, communications, and technology management while providing maintenance and emergency support to restaurant team members allowing them to do their job with the fullest support.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain restaurant internet uptime and be fully available on-call for any issue resolution that arises if network connection fails
  • Create, manage, and field Ampler Restaurant’s IT Helpdesk
  • Helps to identify opportunities to streamline and optimize restaurant IT configurations
  • Remote maintenance and program installation including but not limited to:

    • Network and POS troubleshooting
    • Restaurant application assistance
    • Drive thru timers and headsets
    • Microsoft Office 10 and 365
    • Credit card troubleshooting
    • Credit card machines
    • Digital menu boards
    • Kitchen equipment
    • Windows 7/8/10
    • Firewall
    • G Suite
    • Helps to identify opportunities to streamline and optimize restaurant IT configurations
    • Ensures compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations
    • Conducts ALL business at the highest level of integrity
    • Perform other duties as assigned


SKILLS

  • Proficient knowledge of networking, cabling, technology troubleshooting, point of sale systems, and device installations
  • Problem solving and creative thinking skills to overcome problems in the field
  • Effective written communication and the ability to prepare reports, proposals, procedures, and policies
  • Effective public relations skills and sound public speaking skills
  • Superior listening skills


REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of experience in Information Technology, Business, and/or related work experience
  • Ability to present information and make recommendations effectively in oral and written form
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks (time management)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to champion new ideas and initiatives
  • Proficient with automated reporting systems
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Values diversity
  • Knowledge of basic networking and restaurant POS systems
  • Good judgment, approachable and professional demeanor

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time.
