Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach. This is a full-time, 12 month exempt position located in Upland, Indiana. Resumes will be accepted until position is filled.
The head coach for the men’s lacrosse program will be responsible for the teaching and mentoring of student–athletes in a competitive environment. Within the confines of the Taylor University and Athletic mission statements they will model behavior and promote standards of the highest quality. This position will be responsible for maintaining an awareness and developing strategies that would be consistent with the most current philosophies within the scope of lacrosse. This would include being aware of and adhering to all NAIA, Crossroads League and Taylor University rules and regulations with regards to eligibility, recruiting, etc.
This position operates with autonomy and a high level of individual judgement in the areas of: competition and practice scheduling, recruiting, uniform and equipment purchases, travel arrangement, maintaining and managing university provided budget, fundraising initiatives, and spiritual discipleship of team. Other duties would include: attendance at all departmental meetings, reading and operating according to the policies and procedures of the athletic department, communication and effective collaboration with the sports information and athletic training departments.
This position will also have additional duties within the Athletic Department as assigned.
Knowledge of and committed to the Taylor University mission statement and philosophy, the NAIA, and conference rules and regulations. Required qualification: lacrosse coaching experience, committed to a Christian lifestyle and coaching perspective, and can demonstrate success recruiting and in motivating student-athletes in a positive environment. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree and college coaching experience.
