OVERVIEW

To this end, the Front of House General Manager (FOH GM) is responsible for overseeing the daily Front of House operations of the restaurant, as well as developing frontline shift managers. The FOH GM is expected to be on the floor much of their time, particularly during peak hours or busy seasons, to keep a real-time pulse on key operational elements, as well as to connect shoulder-to-shoulder with Team Members. He or she must be skilled in handling stressful working conditions, be an excellent multi-tasker, and be able to deal with frequent interruptions calmly and decisively, to ensure restaurant operations are running smoothly and in alignment with Chick-fil-A and TC&Js goals. The FOH GM is to lead by example and provide continual coaching and cheerleading, especially during busy periods.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Front of House General Manager, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Operations, is responsible for managing and executing the following:

  • Leadership Management (Shift Managers)
  • Train, coach and develop restaurant shift managers to be effective and efficient managers (Front of House Managers, Drive-Thru Manager), as well as provide operational oversight to Guest Satisfaction Managers
  • Keep managers accountable to their expectations
  • Conduct regular manager meetings

  • Operations Management
  • Shifts management (call-outs, etc.)
  • Team Member attendance/disciplinary issues monitoring
  • Troubleshoot any IT issues
  • Ensure Operational Excellence (Cleanliness, Attentive & Courteous Service, Speed of Service, Taste/Quality of Food)
  • Work together with Heart of House Leadership to ensure Operational Excellence
  • Ensure operations are running smoothly (identify bottlenecks and remove obstacles)
  • Cover leadership gaps as needed
  • Conduct end of month inventory counts with Quality Manager
  • Provide operational support for Health Department and other 3rd party vendors compliance

  • Labor Scheduling & Management
  • Create Team Member schedules according to labor budgets, while maintaining Operational Excellence
  • Maintain minimum budget given for labor productivity
  • Make real-time adjustments (add or deduct hours) to schedule according to business needs
  • HotSchedules Management for FOH Team Members
  • Manage Team Member & Manager Time-Off requests, availability approvals, as well as shift swap approvals

REQUIRED ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Full-time commitment with the ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate operational needs within a 40 hours per week schedule
