Food Services Worker – Spokane, WA

Providence is calling a Food Services Worker ( Food and Nutrition Services Dept, Day Shift, 0.96 FTE) to Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Accepts and supports the mission and values of Holy Family Hospital.

  • Supports the Performance Improvement process.

  • Follows policies related to work attendance and dress code.

  • Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

  • Considers individual needs in communication with patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects, to include all ages.

  • Supports patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.

  • Follow the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments & Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains all areas in a clean and sanitary manner; maintains sanitation/foodborne illness prevention records as required; performs special cleaning duties as assigned by manager.

  • Assembles and delivers food to patients as required.

  • Operates dish machine.

  • Washes pots and pans in 3-compartment sink.

  • Delivers clean dishes and utensils to proper area.

  • Assists in preparing/assembling salads, desserts, nourishments, and late trays.

  • Operates POS system, serves customers exceeding their expectations, stock retail areas.

  • Uses safely, maintains and cleans a variety of kitchen equipment and smallwares.

  • Set up, breakdown, clean and stock all patient feeding and retail areas.

  • Accurate and timely assembly of patient trays. Accurate and timely delivery of patient trays. Works accurately at required pace.

  • Demonstrates the proper procedure for correcting serving temperatures (hot or cold).

  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper portion sizes and serving utensils.

  • Understands modified diets and department terminology.

  • Utilizes appropriate pick up schedule/routine for dirty dish carts.

  • Can accurately prepares and deliver floor stock.

  • Washes and tails dishes/pots at required pace. Delivers clean wares to proper storage area.

  • Demonstrates correct procedure for cleaning and sanitizing all food carts.

  • Demonstrates proper technique for the removal of glass and sharp objects from production area.

  • Demonstrates proper procedures for 3-compartment pot washing.

  • Demonstrates correct sanitizing levels and testing. Completes all daily tests and documentation.

  • Demonstrates proper storage techniques label, date and rotate. (FIFO) Change pans as needed. Clean shelving and floors. Remove empty boxes.

  • If needed has the ability to assist in preparing salads, desserts and nourishments.

  • Understands H.A.C.C.P. and its importance to food safety. Consistently completes his/her responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Current Food Handlers Card in Washington State

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Cash handling experience

  • Food service experience

  • Health care
