Enterprise Information Systems Lead – Brewer, ME

Job Summary:

The Enterprise Information Systems Lead supervises assigned staff and teams and is the technical lead of the Enterprise Information Systems group which supports the daily performance and availability of the organization’s enterprise applications infrastructure as defined in the departmental services portfolio. The Enterprise Information Systems Lead resolves issues for customers and technical teams and escalates to Enterprise Information Systems Manager when appropriate. Ensures employee and business issues are resolved in a satisfactory and timely manner consistent with all company polices and expectations. Responsible for the quality and the timely completion of team projects as assigned. Coordinates work requests, technical project and resource planning, and acts as technical lead for the group.

Job Functions and Duties:

The Enterprise Information Systems Lead resolves issues for customers and technical teams and escalates to Enterprise Information Systems Manager when appropriate. Ensures employee and business issues are resolved in a satisfactory and timely manner consistent with all company polices and expectations. Responsible for the quality and the timely completion of team projects as assigned. Coordinates work requests, technical project and resource planning, and acts as technical lead for the group.

Provides excellent customer service to all levels of employees including customers, peers, and leadership. Prepares, leads, and documents regular team meetings as required by Manager. Supervises assigned staff including preparing and executing reviews in conjunction with Manager. Educates the team on changes, processes and new materials. Regularly monitor progress of staff, to ensure they are aware of and practicing these changes.

Communicates in a professional, positive and timely manner in person, on the phone, and via electronic means. Represents the department and company in a positive and professional manner. Adheres to all EMHS and departmental policies and procedures. Develops relationships with other leads, managers, organizational leadership, medical staff, customers, and employees. Incorporates input from stakeholders during planning and implementation of service delivery changes. Serves as role model to staff in dealing with conflict, providing effective communication and exhibiting professionalism. Maintains detailed and accurate records in workload management, asset management and administrative applications. Adheres to deadlines.

Participates in the recruitment, orientation, and supervision of regional technical staff. Sets expectations, conducts performance appraisals, and takes corrective action when needed in conjunction with Manager. Recognizes staff for worthy performance. Evaluates cross-training requirements and implements training programs as appropriate.

Familiar with all applicable EMHS and departmental policies and procedures and monitors user compliance in these areas. Maintains an active program of self-study and learning to enhance professional skills and to stay current with advances in software and technology.

Works conscientiously to minimize cost and time requirements in all areas of departmental responsibility.

Acts as liaison for affiliates and external organizations with which we maintain a relationship.


Education and Experience

Bachelor Degree and 10+ years of experience in a Computer Technology or related technical field is required, or in lieu of degree, an equivalent of 4 additional years’ experience (14+ years total) in Computer Technology or related technical field is required

5 years’ experience supervising 3 or more technical staff within client/server environment

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Intel server based hardware, and associated troubleshooting techniques.

Ability to obtain A+ and Server+ certification within 6 months.

Ability to obtain MCSE and Project+ certification within 12 months.

Highly proficient in the installation, maintenance, and Domain Administration of high-availability servers in a Windows 2008 R2 environment including Application and Database support.

Highly proficient with PowerShell Scripting.

Proficient with High Availability Technologies in a large production environment.

Highly proficient with implementing and integrating new system architecture into an existing environment.

Ability to interpret architecture and design configurations from vendors or other teams to enable clear implementation standards and guidelines.

Ability to identify standard monitoring requirements and scripting or applying additional setting requirements.

Experience using tools for monitoring performance and troubleshooting problems and outages

Provide a sustainable IT infrastructure by supplying cross training and functional documentation

Supervision Exercised

Supervises assigned staff including preparing and executing reviews in conjunction with Manager.

Supervision Received (ability to act independently)

Reports to the Manager of Enterprise Information Systems.

Typical Contacts (Internal/External)

All levels of customers at EMHS including peers, leadership, clinical and administrative staff.


Physical Requirements

Works in a normal office environment, requiring the ability to frequently respond to unpredictable situations.

Works in wiring closets and utility spaces that may be warmer and/or have a higher ambient noise level than other areas, but not at such a level as to require protective clothing or equipment.

Must be able to work and think independently. Will be required to be creative and innovative when working independently and in group settings.

Occasional long and irregular hours

Must be willing to travel by air and ground.

Tolerance for frequent interruptions.

Must be able to speak and communicate clearly and effectively.

Must be able to hear speech.

Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities.

Must be able to travel to various EMHS sites.

Participate in periodic on-call rotation.

This position may be eligible for situational offsite work.
