We are looking for a Jet Engine Mechanic to support our Hickam Air Force Base location.
Candidate will perform the work necessary to disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and test (as required) Pratt & Whitney F119-PW-100 gas turbine engines and associated new technologies. Ideal candidates work in a team environment with Field Service Representatives, Engine Managers, Parts Liaisons, Engineering, and our customers to provide world class maintenance and support. Refer difficulties to lead or supervisor.
Candidate must be able to:
Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits or certifications as required. Work varying and/or different shifts as required. Perform additional tasks in support of business objectives and/or to develop the individual's skills.
Handle process related waste in accordance with approved documented work instructions Typical duties will include:
Perform full and intermediate level maintenance and repair on engines, modules and components.
Perform routine maintenance of support equipment. Local support for investigations and process improvement activity, management of process related waste in accordance with approved work instructions, and additional tasks in support of business objectives.
This position requires an individual who is detail oriented.
Accuracy in work performed is a must. Ideal candidate will have experience in the disassembly, inspection, and assembly of gas turbine engines.
Borescope experience, familiarity with flight line maintenance operations, knowledge of non-powered Aerospace Ground Equipment, and a proven ability to use and interpret electronic technical manuals. You must also be able to work atop maintenance platforms, ascend/descend maintenance stands, and lift 25 pounds to a height of 4 feet with or without reasonable accommodation(s). You should able to use computers and have proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ideal candidates should be detail oriented and have a high level of attention to work being performed.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced team environment with changing/multiple priorities, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and work independently.
- 4+ years of Jet Engine experience in the tear-down, build-up, and inspection.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (25 lbs or greater) as required with or without reasonable accommodations
• Ability to interpret technical documentation for advanced propulsion systems. • Must have a secret clearance, or the ability to acquire one within one year. Must maintain all required clearances and access.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software is required.
- Air Force or other military aerospace maintenance systems experience.
- Previous experience in Aerospace/ Military Aircraft
- Airframe & Power plant License
High school graduate or equivalent.
Preferred education/certification: Airframe & Power plant License
