Director, Talent Acquisition – Human Resources – Lebanon, NH

Director, Talent Acquisition leads the recruiting strategy and efforts for Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H), a nonprofit academic health system serving communities in northern New England. D-H provides access to more than 1,000 primary care doctors and specialists in almost every area of medicine and is an industry leader when it comes to innovations in medicine and patient-centered care. The Director will manage a team of talent acquisition leaders, recruiters, coordinators, and an immigration specialist. The Director will recruit for executive level positions, is responsible to build and deliver on a talent strategy and will support our long-range plan; will support our resources with delivering a high quality customer experience. The Director is responsible to leverage key relationships with talent acquisition partners across Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH), including our affiliate hospitals and external search partners and stakeholders as necessary to set strategy and execute against business needs both current and future. The Director is expected to lead and develop the talent acquisition team through training, coaching & mentoring as well as leading by personal example and accountability.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees activities and sets goals of the talent acquisition team.

  • Administers various recruitment procedures; development and implementation of HR policies and procedures related to talent acquisition, ATS system administration and vendor management.

  • Designs and implements a sourcing strategy to identify and attract the best candidates for the D-H culture.

  • Brings fresh ideas and insights to advance the talent acquisition strategy and vision for the future including employment branding, social media strategy, visa programs, employee referrals, etc.

  • Researches and cultivates new and innovative recruiting sources to develop a pipeline of talent, including talent strategies for regional areas.

  • Conducts regular reviews with department directors to report on staffing, metrics, diversity efforts and mission-critical projects in order to provide transparency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration with 5-10 years of direct leadership experience in Human Resources.

  • Experienced in leading large-scale strategic transformational programs collaborating with senior business leaders across multiple business units.

  • Strong business acumen; understanding of key industry and business trends (e.g., organizational functions, regulatory, legal, economic conditions).

  • Experience developing and utilizing metrics to inform business decisions is required.

  • Excellent executive presentation skills, able to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and able to respectfully question and/or challenge others to think through problems, improvement opportunities, solutions, and plans.
