Director, Campus Finance – Skokie, IL

This position is located in the organization’s corporate office and is responsible for the hiring, supervising, training of the senior staff accountants that perform the monthly general ledger close for the organization’s 13 campuses. Additionally, this position is responsible for the oversight of the business office supervisor. This position is key to ensuring that a timely and accurate close is completed each month. This role will implement strategies to effectively operate and manage risks related to financial accounting. This role will stay up to date on accounting guidance and will work with the AVP-Controller as well as the corporate finance director to evaluate the impact of accounting changes on the organization. This role will lead an effective training program for the senior staff and will partner with the Business Office supervisor to develop a robust training program for the business office team. This role will partner with the corporate finance director to ensure a timely and clean audit.

Lead campus accounting and the business office specialist team.

Manage the general ledger close. Evaluate close deadlines and processes. Ensure proper controls and accountability exists. Follow a monthly review plan in order to achieve an accurate close. This involves partnering with the FP&A team.

Hire, train, develop, and lead senior staff and business office supervisor. Create a robust training program- continually evaluating the needs of staff in order to effectively train and lead.

Required Degree : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance



  • 2+ years public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience required.
  • Senior living experience strongly preferred
  • Lawson experience preferred.

  • Strong ability to evaluate the impact of new accounting guidance and compliance requirements of the organization.

  • Ability to work effectively within a large, matrix organization.
