Position Overview:
The Corporate Communications Coordinator will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment (HBSE) Corporate Communications department.

This position is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the department, providing support from a public relations and communication standpoint for the HBSE Corporate Communications Department. The candidate will be heavily involved coordinating the day-to-day operation of the department, while assisting with implementation and generation of corporate, community engagement, and entertainment publicity initiatives across all HBSE entities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player. This position does require minimal travel; this position does require early morning, evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Compile and track the placement of story pitches in the market, as well as track and produce quantifiable ROI at end of year for media placed by Corporate Communications department.
  • Develop, establish and maintain relationships with non-sports and non-traditional media members in the city, state and region, including business writers, entertainment reporters, radio personalities, etc.
  • Assist with compilation and distribution of the HBSE Corporate Communications daily clips.
  • Escort HBSE front office executives and talent to media appearances. Deploy promotional items to media organizations.
  • Game night responsibilities: Escort Corporate Communicators media guests, coordinate Corporate Communications social and publicity events, deliver Corporate Communications information to relevant media and broadcast partners, etc.
  • Works closely with all company departments to develop storylines.
  • Writing and editing internal and external communications, press releases, marketing materials, executive backgrounders, scripts and award submissions.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and execution of Corporate Communications deliverables.
  • Answer phones, maintain calendar and departmental schedules.
  • Other duties and research projects within department as assigned by Director of Corporate Communications.

Qualifications (educational, experience and basic knowledge requirements):
  • Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing
  • Minimum of two years of public relations or communications experience preferred
  • Prior industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and Cision preferred
  • Detail-oriented w/excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Must have outstanding planning and project management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects, while continuously meeting tight deadlines
  • Creative and proactive problem solver

Special Position Requirements (Any travel, security, hazard, physical demands or related special issues which apply to the position):
Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Work Environment: This position is required to attend games and other events taking place on weekends and/or holidays.

  • Collaborate with the Brand and Creative team on social templates and guidelines
  • Cover and provide real-time social media updates from games, practices and events
  • Exhibit compelling storytelling through all content and use of digital and social media platforms
  • Coordinate with social team for publishing/distribution of content for @sixers digital channels
  • Ensure all content is on brand, consistent in style, quality and voice
  • Leverage trending topics/current events to develop content themes and spontaneous activations
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications (educational, experience and basic knowledge requirements):
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or related aspect
  • 1 – 3 years of experience
  • Advanced level with Adobe Creative Design software
  • Excellent written and communication skills with superior attention to detail and proof-reading experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to take constructive criticism
  • Must be able to excel under pressure
  • Must be available to work all games/events, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of social networking platforms and emerging web technology as it pertains to position
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
