The Ressler Neurobiology of Fear Laboratory at McLean Hospital, Belmont, MA is hiring a full-time clinical research assistant to conduct research with human subjects under the supervision of Dr. Antonia Seligowski.
Our lab uses translational research to study trauma and PTSD. Methods include electroencephalography (EEG), fear conditioning, phlebotomy, psychophysiology (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, skin conductance), and clinical interviewing.
Principal duties may vary over time with grant funding and project demands, and with skill level of other staff assigned to projects. Primary responsibilities include:
- Assists with clinical research studies as per study guidelines and protocols
- Recruits and evaluates potential study participants
- Obtains informed consent from potential study participants, educating them about the study including the possible risks/benefits, procedural details, and significance of the study
- Collects patient information and maintains patient database for study
- Administers questionnaires and clinical interviews to consented study participants
- Administers psychophysiology and EEG-based tasks
- Obtains and processes blood samples (phlebotomy training will be provided)
- Ensures ongoing data integrity for the project by overseeing data collection, entry, storage, and management
- Maintains regulatory documents and assists with IRB submissions
- Monitors equipment, maintains inventory, and orders supplies when necessary
- Performs data analysis and QA/QC data check
- Assists in preparing project presentations, manuscripts, and progress reports
- Performs all other duties as assigned

- BA or BS degree
- Must have prior experience working with human subjects
