As a Manager of Clinical Data and Registry Abstraction, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and operation of the Clinical Data Abstraction Shared Services and overall activities as it relates to abstraction of data for Core Measures.

What you will do in this role:

  • Provides direct managerial oversight and general direction to abstraction staff in case findings and abstraction.

  • Actively reviews and manages data outcomes to identify opportunity for overall quality improvement.

  • Ensures complete, accurate, timely and consistent abstraction according to the standards of various regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g. CMS, TJC, NHSN, etc.).

  • Works in partnership across various teams to communicate production related issues such as workflow processes, forecasting, scheduling, quality activities, etc.

  • Coaches and helps develop team members; helps to resolve behavior issues within functional area(s); disciplines and counsels staff as necessary.

  • Responsible for review and improvement of process and services.

  • Responsible for ensuring employee work schedules sufficiently meet mandated turn-around-time requirements established by the governing body.

  • Resolve errors resulting in the rejection of records from the data entry system

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • REQUIRED: Undergraduate (Associate or Bachelor) degree in a healthcare related field.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in Health Information Management; Coding, Nursing, and/or Health Registry abstraction experience

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

  • PREFERRED: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, LVN or RN
